RePL Online Course - (Multirotor/Fixed Wing)

From $2,650 Incl. GST

Our new CASA Manual Of Standards part 101 compliant Online RePL Course is designed for people who wish to learn at their own pace and at times that fit around busy lifestyles. A series of pre-recorded online lectures allow students to access the material 24/7, and once the student feels ready for the exam, they can book in for their Theory Revision and Exam days. You will also complete a day of practical flight training on either fixed-wing or multi-rotor platforms up to 7 kg (you may complete both but this requires an extra day).
We have a range of dates available on our calendar of availability for practical flight training, including both weekdays and weekends. Currently flight training is undertaken in Warrnambool, Geelong, Bendigo & occasionally Wonthaggi, although if you have a large group booking we may be able to come to you.
 
  
The Online RePL  Course includes:

  • Access to the Online Course notes and pre-recorded lectures,

       covering the information required for the Theory Exam

  • Two online revision days and one face to face revision day before the Exam

  • RePL theory exam

  • Knowledge Deficiency Report (KDR) and Clarification after the Exam

Introduction to Drones - (Multirotor) 

$450 Incl. GST

If you are looking to take advantage of the Sub 2kg regulations but not sure where to start and don’t want to break your new drone? Then this is the course for you!
The Sub 2kg skills course is broken into two parts. 
The first is a series of 3 online modules that explain the basics about what makes up a small RPAS, assessing risk/planning and unpacking the legislation and explaining it in plain terms.
The second is half a day (4 hours) of practical hands on training where we take you through safe aircraft operation, how to get that shot and how to manage when things go wrong. 
This course is suitable for the beginner and does not require any prior experience and can be used as a pathway to full RePL certification (flight time counted towards RePL and cost of intro course discounted off for RePL licence if booked within 12 months of intro course completion).

RPAS Type Training - Multirotor or Fixed Wing(up to 7KG)

$995 Inc. GST

If you already hold a General Aviation licence (of PPL or higher) or already have your RePL for fixed-wing aircraft, then this is the course for you. This course is specifically designed to deliver practical and safety components only in a single day type training. It includes basic RPAS information and practical training on our multi-rotor platforms finishing with a CASA certified competency assessment.

Type training includes:

  • A general overview of electric RPAS and components

  • Battery care and maintenance

  • Practical fixed-wing or multi-rotor platform training and flight test

Type training can be undertaken on any of the dates available on our calendar of availability for practical flight training, including both weekdays and weekends. Currently this type training is undertaken in Warrnambool, Geelong or elsewhere by special arrangement.

RPAS Type Training - (Multirotor up to 25KG)

From $1300 Incl. GST

If you already hold a General Aviation licence (of PPL or higher) and want to obtain your RePL this course allows you to achieve type certification on multirotor aircraft up to 25KG.

 

Flying aircraft in the heavier weight class is a completely different kettle of fish. You will be flying both a hexacopter and octacopter, with the octacopter having a maximum take off weight of 25KG, well within the realm of its weight class.

 

As these are much larger aircraft the risk involved is increased, we therefore require a higher level of precision and accuracy to gain competency. In this course we also take you through utilization of advanced ground station systems to make the job of managing heavy aircraft easier and safer.

 

As we will first be introducing you to smaller aircraft and then moving onto bigger aircraft where you will get a full 5 hours of flight time, this type training course will require 1.5 days to complete. For further information on our larger RPA, please get in contact with us.

RPAS Type Training - (Multirotor 7-25KG Upgrade)

From $995 Incl. GST

If you already hold an RePL and are limited to multirotor aircraft up to 7KG and need to upgrade your multirotor weight class to lift a bigger lens, then this is the course for you. At the completion of this type training course you will be qualified to fly multirotor aircraft up to 25KG.

 

Flying aircraft in the heavier weight class is a completely different kettle of fish. You will be flying both a hexacopter and octacopter, with the octacopter having a maximum take off weight of25KG, well within the realm of its weight class.

 

As these are much larger aircraft the risk involved is increased, we therefore require a higher level of precision and accuracy to gain competency. In this course we also take you through utilization of advanced ground station systems to make the job of managing heavy aircraft easier and safer.

 

As you're already qualified to operate multirotor aircraft up to 7KG, we will be stepping straight into flying our heavier aircraft . Aviation Radio Operators Certificate (AROC) & General English Language Proficiency (GELP) course. 

From $400 Incl. GST

This certificate is necessary to legally operate an Air Band Radio and is a useful addition to any RePL holder.

The AROC certificate is independent of the Remote Pilot Licence (UAV Controller Certificate or Drone Licence). This means you do not require the radio certificate to complete the RPAS drone training course and receive your drone licence (RePL). 

Obtaining a an AROC is highly recommended if you intend to obtain your ReOC (or work under someone else’s)  as it fulfils the requirements  the Civil Aviation Regulations (CASR 101.285 (3-8)). This allows you to operate within 3NM or aerodrome and in controlled airspace along with any other scenario where CASA requires the use of an air band radio.

Along with the AROC we also deliver an English Language Proficiency which put simply asses your level of proficiency in speaking and comprehending the English language and is required for AROC application.

Upon successful completion of the AROC course and the (ELP Assessment), you will receive a CASA issued certificate to compliment your RePL.

RPAS Mapping Course 

From $795 Incl. GST

This course has been developed for individuals or businesses that want to enhance their capabilities in the growing world of aerial mapping and surveying. Whether you're just starting out in the RPAS industry and want to get the skills that will set you ahead of the competition or you're a company that already operates in the industry and you want to skip the trial and error phase of learning how to map with a drone, this course is for you.

 

This single day course will develop your skills and knowledge in everything from autonomous mission setup to utilisation of data for high resolution 3D surface models. No matter the industry, this course can be tailored specifically to your requirements and replicate what you want to achieve in the industry as accurately as possible.  

 

The day will start off at our local flying field where we will run you through the platform and software we are operating, identification of environmental conditions causing errors and automated mission design and flight setup. Whilst the data collected from the flight is being processed back at our office we will discuss the procedures to data analysis and manipulation. This will be dependent on the outcome you would like from the data whether that be Orthomosaic, Digital Surface Model, Digital Terrain Model, Google Image Tile or Volumetrics.

 

At the end of this course you will have hands on experience in the latest drone mapping software and technology, understand the conventions of good data capture and will have the capabilities to present data to clients or the information necessary to assist in decision making.
