Griffiths Island eco-tours offer a unique experience of airborne sightseeing without the need to leave the ground. Participants relax in the comport of our field base while viewing imagery of the island from our drone and listening to an engaging commentary on the island’s history and ecology from one of our local guides.
From the early days of whaling to protecting the Port from rough weather Griffiths Island has a fascinating history. Its ecology has been vastly affected by occupation over the years, but the site still hosts an impressive array of native species of both flora and fauna.
Our tours are suitable for all ages and ability levels and are fully wheelchair accessible and provide a birds-eye view without disturbing the local flora and fauna. It also offers the ability to see features that are only visible from the air and appreciate just how the landscape has been changed over the past 200 years.
